• I mean, you can't really do much, but, and that boat really, it was very close to tipping over and filling up in the, in the middle of the South Alligator River, and we're only 50 metres away, but there's absolutely no way we could get to them if something did happen.

• And so the roads close from Bird Billabong right through to the South Alligator River, out that way, which means no one can get the Shady Camp and do any guided fishing out there either.

• And when the water is high and cool like this, the South Alligator River floodplain fishes really well, whereas, you know, Shady Camps, a bit of an inland sea.

• So, yeah, it's, although we haven't had big monsoons, the, the system, uh, particularly South Alligator River, where I've been fishing, is looking really healthy, and everything's right on track for a great year.

• Of course, everyone still keeps it a little bit on the down low at the moment, but the south alligator's been fishing pretty well for some big fish up around the boat ramp, and I know from when I was there that I thought it was about to really start to fire, and that was a few weeks ago now, so it doesn't surprise me at all.

• There is um, there's 3 different boat ramps there that you can access right from the caravan park or within 10 minute drive, and um, and you're fishing on the top of the uh, South Alligator River system there, and it's absolutely chock full of Saratoga and Barrett and all the other um, freshwater species as well.

• Usually by this time of year, they're open with our um, the, the flood stuff sort of receded and the ranges of going there and clean, clean all the tracks up and, and then we can get in and yeah, so we'll, we'll probably be going to the south alligator billabongs and the um, the wild man billabongs.
