It's time now to head to the Top End and Bag a Barra with Glenn Watty Watt, thanks to Barefoot Fishing Safaris and uniden. For the best in UHF communications, explore the extract series at uniden.com.au. Well, before we get out of here, I thought we better have a chat with Watty to see what's biting up there, because he's been out and about. Watty g'day. Oh, g'day, duck.

What's pointing? Oh, well, I can tell you now, mate, the Barramunda you biting. How are you going? How are you going? You going all right?

Yeah, yeah, yeah. No, I'm good. I'm, uh, it's, um, it's been a great 1st couple of trips out of Kakadu bar fishing for the year. So, um, you know, if it keeps going the way it is right now,

It's going to be an amazing runoff fishing season for us out there. Yeah, sounds good. It was good last week to catch you on the on the water. And so you've been out and plenty of fish biting, plenty of barrers on.

You got to be a cracking season, you think? Yeah, absolutely. I think we're in a bit of a monsoon break period at the moment and then there's some rain forecast next few days. So if we keep getting that sort of rainy spell, dry spell, rainy spell, dry spell for a little bit longer.

It's gonna really keep things ticking along nicely, and uh, you know, if the, the fishing keeps going the way it has been the last couple of trips, uh, everyone will be really stoked. It's amazing how all that works. I know we've said it before, but how that whole system up there. and Mother Nature doing its thing has an effect on everything.

It's amazing. Yeah, that's right. It's, it's really important and it does, I suppose it changes every year changes and that's why, you know, the whole survival of the fittest thing, um, comes into play and um, the, the system sort of regenerates after these, these big rains we get this time of year and, and off we go again. So, yeah, it's, although we haven't had big monsoons, the, the system, uh, particularly South Alligator River, where I've been fishing, is looking really healthy, and everything's right on track for a great year.

Yeah, sounds great, mate. and I've seen you've popped some videos up. People can have a look at those videos and reels on your social media, just Barefoot Fishing Safaris, yeah? Yeah, that's right.

I got a nice little video of one of the boys catching a 85 centimetre barra right on sunrise um the other morning, so that was a good way to start the day and and that sort of um that bite period really continue through the day and I think they probably end up with over 50 barra between the 3 of them for their last day. Actually, no, that was their 1st day on the water. So yeah, that was a great trip. You actually look like you were all in uniform.

Well, but blue shirts on, I think. Was it one of I saw or no? Yeah, well, it does tend to be that way on the fishing boat at times. Everyone has a similar sort of fishing attire, I suppose, and once we get these new angling adventures and Barefoot Fishing Safaris shirts out, mate, we'll have an official uniform, so that's good too.

Yeah, yeah. Well, that'll be the game. Yeah, that's wood with the game. Yeah, I can see you up there, mate.

You'll be up there, mate, doing your best and then back into the car park, putting the boat on and with your FPOS machine out, just, you know, and you don't get to buy your shirt and your stub your holder in your hat. That's all right, mate. Cash only, though. cash only.

Cash is king, cash. They say, what he cash is king. But I couldn't do the last time I had cash on me, to be honest. I mean, Fan.

It's getting harder. All right. Well, this, it is, mate. Now, listen.

Well, it is good, and it's, and you're for a bumper, a bumper year. People can check out what you're up to. Barefoot Fishing Safaris, and of course, angling adventures, and they can find all that on websites and of course, on social media as well. Absolutely.

Yep, that's right. Keep up to date with the latest news from up the Top End. Yeah, absolutely. That's the place to find out what's going on and what's biting.

You a good man. Wady? I know you're on the lawnmower at the moment, so we'll let you get back into that, all right? You'll do anything.

You will do anything to build up a thirst, that's for sure. Oh, yeah, well, that's right. It's a bloody full-time job keeping out of this grass out here at the moment. So, you know, the worst thing in the world.

I could imagine. All right, mate. Well, we'll catch up with you next week if we can find you and we'll find out how it's how it's all evolving as we get closer and closer for that tourism season. Unreal.

Good on you, Doc. Talk to you then. There he is. That's how I mean.
