We're within range of a phone tower today, luckily enough, so you never know your luck on the water up here sometimes. Where are you? We're at the top of the South Alligator River system, sort of right up close on the floodplains. You can see the beautiful grasslands out, over the horizon here and quite close to yellow waters, which is um where the foam tower is.

So you're right in the middle of Kakadu National Park, catching a few too. How good is that? So you're at Kakadu now, on the river, and you're catching a few. A lot of crocs around.

Uh, yeah. We have seen a fair few today, and... And just after what he wrapped himself about the phone tower, he starts dropping out. You there?

Well, what about you? Oh, yeah, we're killing it here. We're on the river, and we're in phone range, and the phone tower is out, and you dropped out. Yeah.

Okay, isn't it? Anyway, but we're still catching 2 fish, so that's good. That's the main thing. So anyway, so you were telling us you've seen plenty of crocodiles, but you are into them, mate. So the fish are biting, which is good.

Yeah, well, we've had a couple of, sort of, probably slower days and then the boys got into a little bit yesterday, sort of got a feel for it and and today they're coming good. We still got another day, so, yeah, we've, um, yeah, I think by the end of the trip we should have them fully trained and then they'll be right for next time. Yeah, no, happy days, mate. And what else has been happening up there?

So obviously good sized barrers. Uh, these ones that were into your idea now on the floodplains are pretty small, most of them undersized, um, but the ones were getting, uh, yesterday around a similar area were, uh, mostly around that sort of, uh, sort of mid 60s. Sort of like those ones you got in corroborate that time, mate. And yeah, we, you know, they're beautiful eating fish, so we put a couple of them in the freezer for the boys to take home and show off to their family.

So that's nice. But, um, yeah, we've been getting a lot of afternoon rainy out here, which is, which has sort of slowed things up a little bit, perhaps, um, upsetting the water temperature and stuff, but seems to be settling down a little bit now, so fingers crossed, it'll keep getting better and better. So unbelievable. So you're on the boat, you're out there in the middle of Kakadu.

And mate, what's it like? So obviously it'd be still pretty warm, the humidity. You see, you get shout rain at night. But mate, it must be just, I mean, you got the best job in the world, haven't you?

Yeah, well, these blokes keep telling me that when I'm getting their lures out of the out of the trees and untangled their bird's nest, but yeah, no. They went to the duck school of fishing, did they? Yeah, yeah, they must have went to your fishing school, mate. No, it is beautiful, especially up here, mate.

You know, you get, you get up on the floodplains and you got all the birds and everything happening around and, and yeah, well, we keep saying that the fish is a bit of a bonus, but, you know, it's good to get a few and, and we're doing that now, so it makes it all worthwhile. Oh, how good is it, mate? Sounds fantastic and the fact that we've got you on the water out there, up there in Kakadu, which is fantastic. And you don't do that. We don't, well, we don't do it every day of the week yet to talk to people that are doing that.

And what about it? What else, mate? much else getting caught around the place up there or are you just getting back into it now yourself, really? Yeah, well, that's right.

I've been on the water pretty flat out last few days, so I haven't heard too much of what's going on, but I, um, you know, like it, it, like I sort of said last week, uh, people are getting bigger fish this time of year, they probably are keeping it to themselves a little bit. But, you know, next couple of weeks, once everyone starts getting out, then, yeah, that'll be, it'll be right on. It'll be all over everyone's social media pages and stuff, of course. So, yeah, it's um, it's an exciting time.

All right. Well, mate, we'll let you get back to it. You're on the water, yeah, fishing as we speak, which is fantastic. On the East Alligator river.

Yeah, Kakadu. Yeah, we're on the south alligator at the moment, mate. Right, okay. Up near Yellow Waters. Which a lot of people would be familiar with with the sunrise and crocodile tours and stuff there, yeah.
