Bag a Barra — 17 October 2025 Bag a Barra, Oz Off Road Radio
The East Alligator isn't the most densely populated, but at those particular times, all the crocs in the area do group up together, which is unusual.
Bag a Barra — 1 August 2025 Bag a Barra, Oz Off Road Radio
I've just done a couple of half day trips um out in Kakadu, one on the East Alligator, uh, not, uh, yesterday afternoon where I think we probably boated about 20 odd barra, mostly undersized last night, but a couple of nice ones in there, one big Saratoga.
Bag a Barra — 13 June 2025 Bag a Barra, Oz Off Road Radio
Um, but yeah, it's absolutely spectacular country, of course, and we don't get much of that over this way, um, as you know, apart from the East Alligator, river's about the only place where we got a bit of rock and escarpment country, and um, yeah, we've spent a couple of days there lately as well, which is good.
Bag a Barra — 6 June 2025 Bag a Barra, Oz Off Road Radio
And we, you know, we've been fishing the south alligator up until recently, and actually, when I spoke to you last over the Easter weekend was just when we could start pushing across the Majila Creek, to head to the East Alligator River as well.
Bag a Barra — 25 April 2025 Bag a Barra, Oz Off Road Radio
Um, but hopefully in a couple of weeks, as this water drops, that'll become an option again, and in the top of the, uh, the East Alligator, and all those crocs will be bunched up back at Kale's Crossing as well, and, you know, that's obviously a big major attraction out here as well.
Bag a Barra — 18 April 2025 Bag a Barra, Oz Off Road Radio
And, um, but of course, there's huge demand in, in Kakado, especially that sort of East Alligator, upper system in amongst that escarpment country, and, um, you know, to be able to provide some long-lasting memories for some families, especially, uh, through a half day offering, that's what we're keen to do.
Bag a Barra — 21 February 2025 Bag a Barra, Oz Off Road Radio
I, I, I'm pumped, and yeah, I mean, we're getting out to one of the most well-known um crocodile viewing areas in, in Kakadu there at the East Alligator and and try and catch a few of those barra before the crocs get them.
Bag a Barra — 7 February 2025 Bag a Barra, Oz Off Road Radio
I took a video of some crocodiles, uh, doing some fishing on the East Alligator River with their little fingers up, and that's a real sign, uh, the marlet runs happening, which is a, a build-up thing as well, and um, our winds are changing and stuff.
Bag a Barra — 8 September 2023 Bag a Barra, Oz Off Road Radio
It's the, um, it's, there's a natural rock bar there on the East Alligator River. It's in the sort of upper reaches, I suppose.
Bag a Barra — 21 July 2023 Bag a Barra, Oz Off Road Radio
I think we've got a couple of 65s and some, some nice Saratoga and then next day was East Alligator fresh water up in the escarpment country and around all the beautiful clean sandbars.
Bag a Barra — 23 June 2023 Bag a Barra, Oz Off Road Radio
So we went to both the major rivers, which is the East Alligator and the South Alligator. South Alligator is the one that you cross over, sort of on the way into Kakadu, um, which you were driven over, Big Muddy River, and um, yeah, it fished really well.
Bag a Barra — 21 April 2023 Bag a Barra, Oz Off Road Radio
But yeah, the East Alligator, you can't even get into it at the moment because there's a couple of creek crossings that are, um, sort of that um, cut it off from the main road that are running at about metre and a half or metre.
Bag a Barra — 17 March 2023 Bag a Barra, Oz Off Road Radio
Any of those crossing, so you've got the um, the Daly River one, the uh, the Sampan Cricket, um, Shady Camp is also a really famous one and the um, the East Alligator.
Bag a Barra — 3 March 2023 Bag a Barra, Oz Off Road Radio
In fact, that sort of stuff will get better and better until the water all disappears as the bait builds up official beer out there and particularly those Kakadu pole that's out around the south alligator and East Alligator, tend to fish really well right through this time of year.
Bag a Barra — 19 February 2021 Bag a Barra, Oz Off Road Radio
