Well, of course, yeah, man, what he is the man behind Barefoot Fishing Safaris up there in the Top End, and he is on the line. You didn't get blown away, did your Watty last week with that cyclone? No, we're still here, mate.

Plenty of mess to clean up and a few trees down, but that's about as bad as it was for us. There's a lot more trees down when you get up into Darwin City and stuff as they're a bit closer to the main system there. But yeah, we're, we're all very lucky that it wasn't sort of 20 or 30 K further south and bit more of a direct hit. So, that was good. Mm. Yeah, well, I saw plenty of videos doing the rounds of it all happening up there, and in fact, I saw some imbecile doing donuts in a car in the middle of the cyclone and some shopping centre car park in Darwin.

I mean, fair to Inkum. I saw that too, and I thought, oh, that's exactly the same as Louise's. Maybe it's Louise, but no, she was with me. Oh, mate, seriously, but I mean, man, there's always one.

But anyway, well, it's good that you survived, and I mean, they're not too bad damaged and no injuries either, was there? There was nobody got hurt. No, that's right. No one got hurt.

And it's a real credit to, um, you know, how they run the emergency response system up here, the ABC radio and just everyone in Darwin 1st sort of taken it seriously. Um, you know, like, it, it sort of seems like it was a bit of a non-event, but it was, it was the biggest cyclone since Cyclone Tracy. And yeah, apart from a few trees down, there was not a hell of a lot of damage. So it goes to show that the coded buildings working really well and they might want to take a look at that for down south, mate, with all those roofs getting ripped off in those recent storms as well. So, yeah, um you know, it's all, it all goes to plan.

So that's really good for us up here. Yeah, I know, around Southeast Queensland copped a big one through the week, massive, and it wasn't a cyclone as such, but geez, it did some damage. Mate, what does that do quickly? What does that do for the fishing now?

Because there's a lot of water. And I saw the, you know, I'm not sure you know this, obviously, because you're all over it. There was a lot of water that came with it. What does that do for the fishing?

Yeah, well, it gives everything a really good 1st fill-up and a bit of a flush, so that's that's excellent. I'm actually really excited about hitting it myself. We're going out for a few days now ourselves because as temperature crept or jumped right back up after the cyclone, I've already heard of some really good fishing reports. So, yeah, the fish wouldn't have done a hell of a lot through that time with that low barometric pressure, but now the storm's gone. We've got these beautiful bright sunny days now.

Yeah, it's going to really fish well in the next few days. Yeah, absolutely. Where are you off to? We're going up to Coburg Peninsula.

I'm lucky enough to have a mate who's got a liverboard boat, so we're towing my boat and his fishing boat behind. We're going up there for a week. Bit of a Christmas party mate. Well, of course.

Well, it's Christmas night. At least it's a legitimate Christmas party. Like, it's not in, you know, it's not in April, is it? You know, you normally start the moment.

No, no, it counts. Yeah. And usually I'd be guiding, yeah, this last sort of set of tides in November, but I decided this year that I wanted to go fishing myself. So, yeah, I'm really looking forward to it about to head off the Sarvo.

All right, well, good luck with that, mate. I'm sure you'll be posting stuff on your social media about all of that. But mate, I'm glad that you survived the cyclone and off to do some fishing for yourself, which is a private fishing trip, not a work one. Yeah, that's right. And Louise is saying to me, oh, it's really good you get to go and do that.

You don't, when was the last time you did it? I thought about it, it was April last year? Was the last time I did more than one day in a row of fishing for myself? So, there you go.

It's not all, it's not, it's not every, all bells and whistles. When you're running the fishing charter business, you're taking everyone else fishing. So, yeah, it'd be really great to get out with a couple of mates and um, and be able to just sort of relax. Yep, all right, mate. Good stuff.
