It's time to head to the top N and Bag a Barra. With Glenn Watty Watts, thanks to Shimano. Remember to buy local and fish local. visit shimanofish.com.au. Well, our man, Watty, up there in the Top End.

I've got to say to you, I feel like I've been with you all week, because I've been working on the last episode of Oz Afraid TV, where he's all over it. We've turning him into a star. What do you g'day? It'll be a bloody cold day in hell anytime I become a YouTube sensation mate, I think.

Well, mate, I forget that. going on the 9 network. It'll be on YouTube, but the 9 network as well. In fact, I've mentioned it earlier, January 25th on 9 rush at 4.30 in the afternoon.

It's a Saturday. It's on 430 till 5.30 and on 9 now on demand. So people can go to 9 now and watch it there. So, Oz offraid TV.

But you have to wait. because I think you're on the 8th episode. We've left the best to last on season one. So there you go.

But I've got to say to you, he doesn't. doesn't corroborate Billabong come up big on camera anyway. Yeah, that's right, it does, yeah. It certainly does.

You put a drone up and get around those crocodiles unbelievable. Now What he what's doing up there? You've been out and about and doing something different.

What's happening? Yeah, we're poking about, mate, of school holidays, of course. So we're, um, we're trying to keep the kids entertained a little bit in between the rain and we get beautiful, cool mornings here, of course, this time of year, so we just got back this morning from, um, going for a little walk around some of the, I suppose, uh, small lakes in the residential area in Palmerston, right, they, um, sort of in amongst the golf course, I suppose. Um, yeah, they stock bar in there during the school holidays.

They like they, um, they stock rainbow trout into lakes all through Victoria and stuff I know for school holiday programs and same sort of thing up here, but Barramundi, um, we didn't have any luck this morning, but it was a nice walk and uh, yeah, plenty of turtles and other cool birds and stuff, lizards, things to, for the kids to entertain themselves, so, yeah, we'll come, have a bit of lunch now and um, perhaps have a swim and then a rest in the aircon. Good day. Oh, well, absolutely. sounds fantastic.

And look, there's certainly plenty happening up there. I saw some more info about the the $1000000 fish and the tag fish. Whats happening with those? many of those been caught?

Yeah, yeah, there was another one caught, I think. I did see something like that. I haven't been on their pages lately, but there was another one caught in the last week, I think. So, yeah, I mean, there's that.

But also you've got, even if you're not fishing or you're not in the territory, if you're registered, uh, they have all sorts of drawers and um, uh, and um, prize drawers and stuff just uh, being registered sort of thing. So, it's even worth it. Just uh just to get any chance you win a swag or a fridge or an esque or a fishing rod or whatever it might be. There's heap surprises. Yeah, that sounds fantastic, mate.

That's always a good place up there, this time of year, plenty of doing. We've been talking a little bit about Australia Day, which is a few weeks away, obviously. But what happens for you on Australia Day up in the Top End? Yeah, well, we, uh, last couple of years we've been doing some pretty cool activities with the kids.

We, we, um, don't have the kids this, this year for Australia, so we'll probably just go to, uh, go to a barbeque at a mate's place and, you know, play a bit of cricket and whatever, but, um, there's, there's a heap of activities on around Darwin, for Australia, the main one that we love doing with the kids is the Ute run. So um they have an Australia Ute run starts in town at the Hidden Valley Raceway, goes all around the place. Um, you know, all the Utes all done up, flags and all the, um, blow up kangaroos and all that sort of stuff on them, and then finishes out at another place that you like, I know, is the Nunamar Tav. Everyone finishes up out there and a big party, Australia Day party out there.

So, yeah, we might end up out there too, mate. You know, we don't have to do a bit of a lap, does it? No, no, not at all. The Nudamar Tavern.

Yes, we did have a feed there and a few beers. And, oh, the thing that got me when we 1st got there, which you weren't aware of, with the helicopters flying people in on these pub crawls by helicopter. Only in the territory, son, only in the territory. I mean, like how good is it? And where's this helicopter landing?

And next thing, right beside the pub? Yeah, that's right. Yeah, pretty good. right throughout the day, especially at lunchtime and then knockoff time, yeah. Yeah, absolutely, yeah, just quickly, mate.

How's the fishing? Have you done any? What are you hearing? Well, yeah, I am people are getting pretty fired up now.

like the rivers are up and down and um they're talking about a monsoon in the next couple of weeks, so, but the, the rivers are at a point now where they have perhaps settled a little bit from that 1st flush and and yeah, the, the whispers, their, their only whispers, because people who are getting onto them early, um, do tend to keep it to themselves a bit, but yeah, it'll, um, it'll start getting pretty loud on social media, um, next couple of weeks up here. I think, mate, because um, the, yeah, that fish, the, it's just that time of year, like it just happened. So, If you go out there, you're in with a bloody good chance.

Yeah, yeah, absolutely mate. Why not get out there and have a crack? All right, mate. Well, well done, Watty, and I'm glad that that life's good in the Top End this time of year, and sure, certainly it's always a good time to be up there, that is for sure.

And mate, I'll get back to still working on the episode that you were on and looking at your mug on the boat. Geez, I'll tell you what, the interview we did was pretty good on the, on the, on the, on camera. It was good. You're an advertisement for the Top End.

Seriously. If you're listening through Northern at Northern Territory tourism or tourism in tea, get onto us, get onto Wadi. Fed, Inkum. doing a great job up there for the northern territory, that's for sure, mate.

All right, what are you're a good man? Absolutely, mate. Well, we certainly promote it. That is for sure.

All right, well, it makes you got an email from someone up there too, the other day, just mentioning that, and I'll be replying with them in kind with a copy of our chat. All right, you're a good man, mate. I will talk to you next week. Good on you, mate.

I'll talk to you then. You enjoy. There he is. Thats our man in the Top End.
