Remember to buy local and fish local. visit shamanofish.com.au. He is the man who owns Angling Adventures, and of course, he is the man behind Barefoot Fishing Safaris, and he's our man in the Top End. What do you g'day?
G'day, Duck. How you going? Going all right, mate. Anyone want any money up there with a $1000000 fish?
happening up in the Top End? Oh, yeah, not in the last couple of weeks? I don't think, mate. It's not from lack of try.
I've had a couple of goes meself, and I'm going to line up to probably going out for a couple of nights out in the kakadoo billabongs shortly as well. So, maybe I might be a bit hard to get hold of if I do win the million. Yeah exactly right. I mean, you're there, Watty?
Exactly. And how is it up there? Because obviously we can close from closer to the big wet and I'm tipping plenty of people have scarpered now and you'd be at the whole place yourself, wouldn't you? Yeah, pretty well, mate.
Just a few tourists coming up and and mostly for fishing trips and um, yeah, it's starting to quieten right down here now, which is, I suppose, good for me because I get a chance to go for a bit of a fish meself with the family and um, and start looking forward to next year's season as well. So, mate, right now, the big, you know, the big, the big rush is gone and the $1000000 fish is on, so plenty of people still wander in for that. Mate, what are we catching? Barras, Barras, still the go to?
Yeah, definitely. especially now as we get towards the end of the year, the tides get bigger and bigger. So, um, it's really good for our Harbour Barrows, Darwin Harbour and Bynoe Harbour, as well as for about 3 days every fortnight when you get the really clean water, real small movement in the tide. There's a lot of people catching um plenty of big barrow around here at the moment too.
Of course, Big Barrow start to think about spawning at this time of year, so that makes it a bit easier to target. And, um, you know, bill bonds are still fishing really well too. So, and that's my plan is to head out to Kakadu for a couple of days, um, with my tiny little flat bottomed tinny and see if I can find a few fish that haven't seen anyone for the year. I'll go pretty remote. So that's going to be good fun.
Mate, how good is it? You just got to duck out the kakadoo. you live in a good spot up there. It's unbelievable, mate.
Really good. Mate, just quickly, the $1000000 fish, obviously, it attracts a few tourists as well. coming up there. People from the south, try and get there and jag the million.
You've seen a bit of that, wouldn't you? Yeah, that's right. There's, um, I don't know whether it creates um, whole new tourists coming up, um, as much as it does. People who are coming up will register.
So, yeah, it's always pretty good chat on the boat about it. I don't know how successful it's been in getting dragging people up from down south specifically for it. But, um, you know, like, uh, yeah, there's plenty of fishing goes on between now and perhaps Christmas time and, and yeah, everyone that goes out and we, uh, will be registered for sure. All right, mate.
Well, don't go too remote. We want to catch up with you next week, see, you went out of kakadoo, all right? Yeah, that'll be good. If you can't get me, you know where I'll, where I'll be, probably buying a big boat somewhere, I'll be down your way, ordering one of those flash carries.
Yeah, yeah, we'd love to, we'd love to see you in there. All right, mate. Well done. All right.
And look, I can tell people too. I was off-ro TV. We've got part one of our of a two-part episode up. In part 2 when it comes up. You'll be seeing Watty as we join you on corroborate Billabong.
We even went out to Dundee Beach and a few other places. A couple of pubs. Anyway, you'll see what he there. You're a good man, mate.
We'll catch up with you next week, eh? Good on you, mate. You too. Have a good weekend.
There he is. That's our man, Glenn. what do you want? Barefoot Fishing Safaris and angling adventures up there in Darwin.
