It's time to head to the Top End and Baga Barra. With Glenn Watty Watts. Thanks to Shimano. Remember to buy local and fish local, visit Shamanofish.com.au.

Well, I didn't think anybody got a cold up there in Darwin, but apparently they do, Watty. Yeah, you can hear, I'm starting to lose my voice a bit, but I, I think I might have, um, added a little bit of burnout after, what was it, 3 or 4 months without a day off, and then, um, Sictorians might have brought it up to me on the last trip. So, yeah, luckily I got a couple days off, so I got me, got me, uh, a bit of a croaky voice and a sore throat. Yeah, well, you don't sound really good.

I mean, in fact, mate, I think you COVID test for you. Go and get tested. There's a bit of community. There hasn't been a community case of COVID in the northern territory throughout this whole ordeal, is there?

No, that's right. Nothing. The only cases we've ever had are the ones in Howard Springs, which has been testament to how well they've handled it, actually. It's gone.

Oh, mate unbelievable. I mean, it'd be the only place in the world. I don't think it'd be anywhere in the world that can lay claim to that. Look, I want to say, territory, I mean, like, you know, a territory or a state.

You know, it's a big part of the country. I mean, that's incredible anyway, but oh, we won't hold up because I think you've got rum burn, to be honest. I think, mix a bit of Coca-Cola with it or something. You know, don't just drink it out of the bottle, Watty.

You know what I mean? Because it will knock your throat around. Water it down, you reckon. Put something in it, a bit of coke or soda or whatever you, whatever you fancy and, you know, just, you know, have a couple of beers with it or something.

Don't just, you know, start on a bottle of rum and start drinking out of the bottle. Rum burn, you reckon? Keep it on. I don't know.

I don't know. Oh, anyway. Well, now, listen, you've got your, you've had a couple of cancellations. You mentioned our poor friends in Victoria and we've got to be, you got to feel for them. I mean, these people especially, and we only broadcast into regional Victoria.

Um, although we do on digital in Melbourne, but, you know, our list is on flow FM. we're all in lockdown at the moment. I really do feel for you. But see, that's caused a couple of cancellation.

So people just go to the website, Barefoot Fishing Safaris.com.au. They still might be able to jag a trip later in the year or something. Oh, the cancellations are that are really only for sort of right now. Oh, okay. Everyone else, everyone else coming up that's already booked is all, uh, all sweet, they're all in mistake, but, um, yeah, we just had one 5 day trip that we had to postpone actually, sadly, for the 2nd time due to COVID.

They were supposed to come up last year and within a couple of days of, you know, we should be fishing right now. So, um, yeah, shame for, for Paul from down Geelong there, but we'll get him out later on the year once they get all, get the all clear again and she'll be right and it's given me a chance to catch up on a bit of maintenance and have a bit of a sleep too. So, yeah. Yeah, we broadcast into Geelong on Kicks Country radio too, and some other stations down there.

So if you are listening to us down there, we do fill your pain and we are thinking about you, that is for sure. Now, mate, before we find out what's biting, you've also got your, you have the, um, the fishing classes coming back up as well. Yeah, that's right. I'm gonna do, um, I haven't sort of made it public yet, but this can be the 1st one.

We're gonna, um, gonna run the full course again in July. I've taken a couple of weeks off over school holidays to deliver that. So, yeah, anyone who wants to, I guess, um, level up their bar fishing game or not the most of what, what has been a really good year so far, and if you plan on coming up later on in the year or next year for, for some fishing. It's a, it's a great opportunity for you to sort of uh, I guess, um, jump ahead, probably 5 or 10 years in your barofficient knowledge if you, if you're into that.

Yeah, absolutely. Great idea. So just on the website, same website, Barefoot Fishing Safaris. Uh, you're most likely to be able to find the links for that um, through the Facebook page, but I will put it up on the website and um, Top End bar of secrets.com is the, is the uh, course website that's currently closed.

You'll be able to register your interest to um join in on the course and then I'll let you know in some emails coming up shortly. I'm just thinking, they actually tell you to have a run when you get crooked. So maybe you should go and have one. Oh, listen to you.

I mean, up there. I mean, like, this is just, I mean, it's sounding horrible. I did try a bit of single malt whiskey last night, duck over a bit of life. That works pretty good, but I've still got to go and do a few more jobs today before I can get stuck into that.

Oh, OK. All right, now there's a fishing zone. It's all happening, what you're saying. It's a busy time and the big barrels are biting everywhere, eh?

Yeah, well, that's right. We just got back from that last mothership trip, 7 day one up into West Arnham land there and we did get one big one over a metre. I think it went 103 on the cast on some really light tackle spin gear, so that was pretty exciting. The boys caught 24 different species of fish and yeah, we had a great time.

So, uh, you know, like it's all still happening. We just change our techniques a little bit and where we fish this time of year to keep in the action. All right. Well, listen, I'm going to let you go, put some Vic's favourite rub.

Oh, mate, listen to you. Oh, look, if you listen, I just hope it doesn't transmit through the phone or through the radio waves, listen, we'll let you go put some Vix vapour rub, put some Vix vapour rub on the bottom of your feet and then put your socks on, you'll feel like a $1000000 tomorrow. Yeah, right. I'll go and do that by now.

I have to go and buy a pair of socks first. Yeah, right, eh. Oh, no. All right, we'll let you go, mate, and we'll catch you next week if you're alive.

Good on you, mate. I like to be. All right, mate, we'll talk to you then. There he is.

That is Glenn, what do you want? Of course, Barefoot Fishing Safaris.
