But he's still on the family farm, but he's been to Adelaide. Whatdy, what's doing, son? Oh, yeah, yeah, we just got back from a couple of days at Adelaide, which was nice to get across and visit a few of the in-laws, I suppose. actually did a bit of hunting and stuff along the way too.

Stopped at a mate's place and did a bit of spotlight and got a few rabbits, which was nice and some yabbies. Yeah. Just living the dream. Yeah, yeah, the weather's come good down here now. So, you know, we might get 3 to 4 days of summer before we leave.

Well, don't worry, it's been a bit like that here as well. I've been here since boxing day. We've had 2 sunny days. I've only been... It's all Bunchies, fall down man in the studio because he got the all Nino thing right or whatever it was and apparently whatever it is, we're in there.

Bunchy, just quickly, what are we in? We're in La Nina. Whatever that means. It's the wet rain. It's the wet rain.

It means rain, Watty. So that's the way it is, mate. you got any, apart from what you're doing there on the farm, back to work. You got an email on what's happening up the top bend, fishing wise?

Uh, yeah, I have. There's been plenty of the small barrels starting to come on in the culverts and the floodplain drains and stuff in and out around Darwin. So it's a favourite pass on with the locals this time of year. We go for a drive along the highways and just have a fish off the side of the road, catch a barrel.

You've got to be happy with that. And mate, what's happened with the $1000000 fish com? Is that still running now or is it, or is that finished now? Yeah, no, still going.

It'll go through until the end of March, but as the wet season sort of progresses and the floodplains fill up, the fish start to move around a lot more. So it's a bit less likely to come in contact with one of those um tag barrow. They start to spread out. But yeah, it's not over yet.

Once they start to congregate around the mouths of the drains and things like this, once we get into February and March, it'll probably be game on again. Yeah, mate. I still can't believe that story where that girl one was it, 10 grand. She went into the survey, bought a hand reel and some and some bait and one and jag one of those tag fish stumbelievable.

Yeah, that's right. You could afford to upgrade the tackle after that pretty easily, I'd say. Yeah, absolutely mate. So you're, how much longer you on the farm for, mate, before you head back up?

Yeah, we've got another week. We're back up on the 11th, so, um, and we'll get back straight in to finishing off that boat build and get out and give her a few test runs, have a fish myself, figure them out, and then wait, um, you know, anxiously for the rain to keep falling and in, in the anticipation of the 1st few groups starting in mid-Bebruary. It's gonna be great. Absolutely.

And like I say, you're talking about rain, you might have heard in the back when you, but a little bit of a shower of rain here now, which is something different, something you haven't seen every day since I've been here. But anyway, it is what it is and uh, but no, all good. All right. So mid February, you kick back off again, but in the meantime, we'll still catch up so you can just tell us what's happening up there because there's still plenty of weekend warriors getting out there, mate, having a crack, isn't he?

Yeah, that's right. All the locals are enjoying the fishing this time of year. You get a few small windows of flat weather in between the rainstorms and that sort of stuff. So, um, there's a chance of real uh, some hot little sessions if you're in the right place at the right time for sure.
