It's time to head to the Top End and Baga Barra. With Glenn Watty Watts, thanks to Shimano. Remember to buy local and fish local. visit Shimanofish.com.au.

Oh, mate, I love it up the Top End. How's corroborate Billabong going up there? Watty, have you been on there lately? Oh, I haven't been out there for a while, duck, but I do know there's a few good fish being caught out of it.

tends to happen this time of year as the water temp increases. Oh, mate, that would be worth a try. I loved it. I loved it.

I was actually watching a bit of... I was actually watching a bit of Matt Wright on the... what is it? What's your National Geographics? Yeah, what's Outback Wrangler.

And I've got to say, he was, I don't know where they were, but there was a bit of footage of him out on some billabong somewhere, it just took me back to that day when you and I were out there bonding and catching that fish. That was a great, great day, mate. a beautiful spot. Yeah.

I mean, absolutely somewhere everyone should try and visit, I think. Amazing, mate. The Top End, the real Top End, and absolutely love it. Now, mate, you've put together this program where people can learn to catch a barrel.

Tell us a bit about it. Yeah, that's right. That's something that's sort of evolved from being, I guess, um, bit free, more free with time this year, after everything that's happened. and um, yeah, Top End bar of secrets has come along. We've done a couple of free info sessions on the Facebook.

page there over the last week and then the course is open for a limited number of enrolments at the moment. um and actually, it's going like gangbusters, so, it'll probably feel up pretty quick. So, um, yeah, it's pretty much, basically spilling the beans on everything I know about, um, you know, how to find Barrow, where to find and when, and sort of how to catch them, when you do find them. Yeah, all through sort of an online training course, which is very exciting. Yeah, that is fantastic.

So that's what it is. online training course on Barramundi fishing. So if so for people want to do that, what's the, um, what, what, what are they? what do they do?

What link is it? What website are in what's what's your? Yeah, all you need to do is search Top End Barra Secrets. and you'll end up at Top End Barra Secrets.com. Yep.

Okay, Top End, Barra Secrets. Top End bar of secrets, yep. Okay, great. Now, who thought of that?

Um, probably wasn't me. It is too good for something that I... I was about to say. I mean, that's, look, I'm not, look, I'm not

I'm not, you know, I'm not trying to put you down or anything, but there's no way in the world you came up with that name. No, well, well, well, well done. Well done, Louise. I mean, like fan income.

I mean, it's a great name, Top End. Top embarrass secret. So you type that in and then and then it's an online, an online course on how to catch Barrow and and there's probably a lot more than that as well. Yeah, that's right.

Like, it's, um, it, it's, basically, uh, when I say online course, it'll be most, most of the key content's going to be delivered through um, small group uh, sort of zoom meetings. Um, yeah, where, where it'll be me and, and uh, participants and, and we just go through anything that they need to talk about in, in regards to the specific topics of each, each um, sort of module. So, it'll probably run for about 4 or 5 weeks by the time we cover everything, um, try and get as, in depth and as, in relation to everyone's sort of fishing plans and where they like to go, what they're planning on doing. Um, you know, coming up, try and get them sorted right out for their upcoming trips and, and then, you know, get everyone catching, catching more barrow and having more fun on the water, creating more memories, um, with people they care about, and you know, even the chance of catching that $1000000 fish too, I suppose.

So, you know... I was about to ask you there, is there any real cash being plucked out of the water up there? Yeah, not in the last couple of days, but there was one, I think, on the weekend, so that takes it up to six. I believe 6 anyway, and yeah, down the Daly River again.

The local mob down there do pretty good, catching them off the bank, down at the crossing and Bamboo Creek every year. So, yeah, if you're looking for one, that's as good a chance as any. Yeah, absolutely. Now, listen, now, with this.

So obviously, this is going to be a winner, so people can go on, they'll get all the details there once they do it. Will you extend this to other species? What he is? move along down the track here.

This idea? Well, there's a good one. Yeah, look, if people really want it. Obviously, the Barr stuff is the main one that people want to catch up here and probably the one that they have the most trouble with. Well, I wouldn't I wouldn't know about that, as you know, I mean, I just...

It's amazing how many people said to me. I've always wanted to catch one and never have. Yeah, oh, absolutely, yeah. lucky I was, really, to be honest.

But anyway, to Jag, it must have been the must have been the guide, as you say. But no, all good, mate. That's a great idea. And I think that, and I think that is right.

I think it's one of those things that all people like to do, especially the blokes out there that love to get up around the, you know, those northern territory trips and up around the Top End. I think even if you're not a fisherman, which I'm really wouldn't class myself as a fisherman, I'm a bit of a weekend hacked, as you saw, but I guess it is 11 thing, isn't it? You want to go up there and catch that barramundi. Yeah, absolutely.

I mean, for anyone who's a keen fisherman in Australia, Barramundi would certainly be, you know, in their top 10 of fish that they want to try and catch, and um, and it's probably also in the top 5 of fish that's trickiest to figure out and catch. You can't just sort of rock up and achieve it unless you are spending money on guided fishing services, which not everyone can afford. But this sort of opens opens up that knowledge to everyone who wants to participate. So, it's a perfect program for people who are doing a, doing their self-guided, towing their own boat up to run off for a couple of weeks or, um, you know, like to go fly up and hire a boat and car and go out for a few days down daily or south or, um, you know, Shady Camp down the thinnest, Dundee, wherever. So, it all, it's all Top End um focussed, so it, it, it's all um, you know, it's, it's a culmination of my addiction of, of the last 10 years of guiding and, and another 10 years before that have just been um, obsessed by, by Barramundi behaviour, which, you know, it's caused me problems in the past, but, you know, this could be a positive coming out of it.

Yeah, that's right. I'm sure plenty of things have caused you probably in the past, including your drinking habits. But anyway, all right. So top embarrass secrets, you just go with you, see, if you, so that, if you just type that, what, type that in Google or something?

Top End barrass. Google Top End Barr secrets, it'll take you straight to the webpage, top in Barrassecrets.com and you get all the goth on how to participate in the course and what's involved there. There's so much content to cover that we don't have enough time to talk about now. But yeah, it's all on the website.

Mate, well done. I know you've been working hard on it, Watty. I thought it was worth a chat out here, and obviously, many people who listen to our show, camping, four-wheel driving, travelling, and fishing, all goes hand in hand, and like we say, people would love to get up there and learn how to catch a barramundi. This is an easy way to do it before you take off.

Just go there and type that in Top End bar of secrets. All right, we'll give it a push here for you, Watty. a great idea. And even for people that are going up around North Queensland aren't even going to the territory, no matter where you're going, if there's bar of money there, you want to jump onto this course before you go.

Yeah, definitely Barabara and they do behave in similar ways all around the country. The East Coast stuff does have a few extra sort of factors that we don't have in the, in the Top End, but um, yeah, the, the, the fundamentals are certainly the same. Yep, absolutely. All right. So top embarrass secrets.

That the website. So you get in there and learn how to catch that bar of Monday before you even hit the water. What a great idea. All right, mate.

Well, we'll let you to go and throw a line in. And I know the new boat's not far away, so we look forward to seeing that on the Barefoot Fishing Safaris website and Facebook page, yeah? Yeah, that's right, duck. I'm actually here at the moment trying to drag it out of the shed and yeah, we'll get it on the water as soon as possible.

Yeah, I know where that shed is too. You're pretty warm there today. Oh yeah, the boys have got to beat up, I can tell you. Yeah, I reckon they would have.

There's up there building up that northern territory thirst. You got to love it. All right, mate, well, you enjoy it up there and we'll give it a pushy. Top End barr secrets and we'll put some info on our page for about that as well.

And I reckon that's gonna be an absolute winner for you, mate. We'll talk to you soon. Right, eh, mate. Thanks very much.

Good on you, mate. There he is, Glenn. What he, what's his good man? Top End Barr secrets.

That's the name. Top End, Barrett Secrets, jump on there, and all the details will be there, how you can participate in those courses. And of course, if you're heading to the Top End and you want to go out with a pretty good guide. I mean, you got to remember, I'm a hack.

And he took me out and I end up catching a Barr and I would never have done that without going out with Watty. So, if you're heading up north, and you want to go out there and catch out Barramato. I was talking to Adam Harvey the other day, who's got Watty's number off me. Must be planning a top entry, Adam, and got Watty's number off me, because he loves his fishing, as you know.

So they'll get up there and go fishing with one of the best. There's plenty of guides up there. Take your pick. Our man is Watty, of course, Barefoot Fishing Safaris, but have a look at that now.

Look at look at that. When next time you're on your phone or your computer, Top End bar of secrets and have a look at that, and you 2 can fish like the pros, unlike me, he was just very, very lucky on the day.
