Happy New Year. It all went well, did it? Oh, well, I survived. You obviously survived as well.

Look, just before we get into it, mate, mate. I got the stubby holders. I've got one here with me now. How good are they?

Yeah, they're good, haven't they? Yeah, no, they've got a little Velcro clip on the side of him with a hole. Why don't you tell people what they're about? I actually posted them up on our Facebook page, the Barefoot Fishing Safaris, hot pink stubby coolers, and maybe you just sent me some.

Oh, friends, you were in that little bag, didn't we? Yeah, they, um, they, they, they, a little Belcro tablet and, um, and you can check out, um, I think on my Facebook page, they're listed there somewhere. There's an item, people can buy, but they're actually, they cast a real cover as well, so you can um chuck the rod and reel in the back of the end, you can tumble around there. No problem, and then you never forget your stubby older as well, so it's a win-win.

Yeah, absolutely mate. They are very, very good. like you say, you do, sell them. Well, they just jump on your website, you can, and you can buy, there's a few people here.

I'm in a couple out. and mate, you know, Adam Harvey, the great country music singer, who goes to Darwin once a year. Now mate, don't be surprised if he calls you. He's a mad fisherman, and I told him that you'll sort him out when he gets up there. Oh, I need to get him out.

I listen to him on the on the juice box in the boat all the time. May as well have him in person, I suppose. Yeah, that's right. Oh, mate, he can be a bit of a pest, though.

He doesn't mind a beer. No, he wouldn't fit into my play, then. No, no. Well, we went for lunch.

We did go there, go someone just pipping the horn you on you, mate. We went to lunch the other day and we were still there when the dinner menus came out, which was we didn't think we could hold that much water. The business lunch. Yeah, that's right.

No, it wasn't really a business lunch. It was just a catch up, but it's just what we do, mate. But anyway, so mate, good luck. I'll send him your way and you can you can accommodate him up there.

Mate, you're still on the farm, Watty. Yeah, that's right. So um, we're, we've got another, only one or 2 more days here and then back up into it. I'm actually looking forward to going to Darwin from Victoria to cool down a bit.

It's um about 42 here today, so it's um 3 a good fire weather, so we're on early alert. We actually went out for a quick fish this morning before I got ahead and got ourselves a bag of red fin out at um our local Lake Rockland's Reservoir, which is um really nice spot to go camping at this time of year, of course. Yeah, exactly right. You mentioned that 42 degree heat.

It's been hot everywhere. There's massive heat wave that's all over the place. But you know what? It's summer in Australia. I mean, if it was pouring rain.

I mean, apart from the fires, which we certainly don't want that. But, I mean, if it was raining over summer, everyone would be blowing up, you know, if it was cold. No, that's right. We won't, we won't get a warm weather down here, get the, get the um, yabbies crawling and the red fin on the bike, so it's all good.

Yeah, the downside to it, of course, is the fires and the fact that, you know, the heat and with the wind and it just creates havoc and just makes it so much more difficult for those people out, but, you know, trying to contain those fires. But it is summer in Australia and that is summer. And we have hot days and if it was cold days, everyone would be absolutely blowing up over it. So, um, but yeah, it's, but it does seem to be, um, it just seems to be a whole lot worse because of the fact that the fire season took off early and uh, there's fires all over the place and uh, we certainly don't want that.

Mate, you said you, I noticed on your Facebook page of the day too, you were into the yabbies, were you? What you have on the barbeque? Yeah, that's right. We've actually had a bit of a Western Victorian feast here over the last few days.

We killed a couple of pigs just before Christmas as well. So we had pig on the spit there one day. It was about 30 people turned up after Boxing Day. As well as, um, well, the old man and killed a dozen sheep before. I got down here, so I got some of them to take back up and they got the yobies on the go.

We got redfin for lunch, Sardo. And, um, yeah, I mean, it's funny. not a bad choice, is it? I talk about living off the land.

I mean, but you're absolutely flying there. I mean, they got significant. I thought they might have put you on a train or at least sort of, you know, throw, you know, wrap you up in plastic, you can put you on the back of a truck or something, got you out of the place. Yeah, no, well, look, they'll probably get sick of me when I stop doing all the jobs around the farm.

I was shearing sheep on Boxing Day back. You got to pay your wages the MBS only, huh? Yeah, right. There's no free, they loafers.

Yeah, if you want, if you want those lamb tops, you got to, you got to peel those sheep first, you see, so, that's the deal around here, but, yeah, no, it's well worth it, as we know, there's nothing like half burnt lamb chocolate have been sold on it. Oh, mate, absolutely. How good is it? Exactly right.

So, mate, and then so, like, it took very quiet time of the year now for your business, so it's a good time to be catching up with family and mates down there. Mate, when you get back, you just sort of sneak back into it and start planning for this year. Yeah, that's right. We've got a few day trips to do, 1st week of, oh, this, this 1st week of January, um, and, and I'll probably, I'll chip away at a few of those, but for, for me, January, February is really a maintenance month as well as I'll get out for a fish myself.

Got a bit of research and development to do for some um some stuff that we'll do later on in the year, sort of through the dry season. So I've got to go check out a few new spots. And um, of course, that's a pretty tough gig as well. So, you know, it's not, not all fun in games. No, exactly right mate. All right.

It's been a reasonably good start and getting these afternoon showers every day in Darwin. So, um, dogs should be right once we get back up there, they'll bash me way through the junk to the house and get that under control. Is that into it? Yeah, good stuff mate. All right.

I mean, he's right into them. Unbelievable. Live bait too. He goes and gets all that sorted out 1st and now he goes and then comes over the feed.

It's amazing for a country music singer. He's a very, very good fisherman as well.
