Tips & Tricks

Some helpful pointers from your resident expert Glenn 'Watty' Watt.

Knots

People are constantly asking about the best knots to use.
I always tell them to find a knot which you can tie quickly and properly each time that wont let you down.

Everyone ties their knots slightly differently so find what works for you and stick to it.

Ill put up a couple of videos of the knots I use over the coming weeks and you can check them out. Some good links to have a look at are.

Filleting Fish

After all your hard work, time and effort catching a few fish it is worth while taking a bit of extra time to fillet your fish and get the best of the tasty meat off the fish as you can.

Ill show you how I fillet barra and other Top End species as time goes on but for a start here is a good video

Launching your boat

Launching and retrieving your boat can be smooth and easy or stressfull and embarrassing.

Having a routine down pat for launch and retrieve is the best way to get in and out of the water swiftly and win a minimum of fuss.

Ill do a video of how I get Barefoot into the water but for now here is a good starting point for you.
